The write/here book is published in an edition of 1000 copies, including 900 soft cover and 100 limited edition hard cover copies.

write/here offers significant insight into the research, process and development of the write/here project. It presents complete and unedited transcripts of several key interviews, workshop, installation and images documenting all 27 installed sites, and critical essays contextualising the work.
136 pages, including 48 pages full colour.

We have 100 copies of Limited Edition hard cover copies, with ribbons, dust jacket and case, signed and numbered by the artists.

We have finally published the write/here project book and will launching soft and hard-cover editions next week at Criterion Gallery in Hobart.

The write/here book will be available on the opening night (and until 2 April) for $50 inc. GST for the soft cover and $200 inc. GST for the special edition, hard cover copies. Our Christmas bag sale at teh IXL Atrium, Hobart was a sell out success. Thank you to all our friends, supporters and strangers who bought bags. Watch this space for a possible second edition later in the year.

MASSIVE BAG SALE

Four vinyl billboards from the write/here project have been recycled into a series of handmade bags. Cut from separate billboards, each bag features fragments of text from the installed posters. There are 144 one-off bags available for sale. If you're in Hobart come and buy a bag, friday 23 November 5pm to 7pm, or all day saturday 24 November at the IXL Atrium, Hunter street.

All sales will go towards funding the write/here project book – to be published in February 2008.

write/here at The National Young Writers Festival 2007

Justy and James will present the write/here project at the National Younf Writers Festival (NYWF) in Newcastle, Thursday 27 September to Monday 01 October. The artists will present an overview of the project in 'From the ground Up: writing, mapping, place. 11.30 - 12.30, Festival Club, Newcastle. The project will also be presented in a Shopfront window at Process Space (after dark).

A note from the artists

The artists would like to acknowledge the huge amount of community support the write/here project has received. With the last billboard site being changed back to advertising this week, we have been overwhelmed by the positive (and not so positive) response from Hobart's communty. Thank you to Ten Days on the Island, Claude Group, all our generous sponsors and donors, and most of all, to the general public for responding so positively to the project. We are now working on the project book, which will be published in August, during Tasmanian Living Artists' Week 2007, to be launched at Hobart Bookshop. Watch this space for updates.

Tuesday 27 March, (7.39am) Justy Phillips talks to Brett Marley about 'all these red signs everywhere'. In this short interview they discuss public reaction to the billboards, and Brett tries to delve deeper into the identity of the writer of site 21.

Literary Lunchtime Talk

If you would like to learn more about the development of the write/here project and will be in Hobart tomorrow, Wednesday 28 March, come along to listen to the artists at the Literary Lunchtime talk at the Pacific Crystal Palace. James and Justy will talk about where the idea first came from, show images from various writing workshops, and discuss the logistics of a project on this scale.

write/here launch a great success

The official write/here project launch was held last night at the Pacific Crystal Palace, Princess Wharf. Hosted by Ten Days on the Island, the event was full of friends, collaborators and contributors. There were many thanks to our sponsors, supporters and collaborators and some very fine Domaine A wines flowing. The artists presented the final 27 billboards to moments of poignancy, giggles and cheers.
