Recently I did another set at Kent St with Corey (_sans). This set was part of a on going night called Plug N Play, a night where various people plug and set a tone.

The parameters we set for our slot was a single colour (yellow) and a single tone to start and finish and a bpm that would be used as a whole or as a half.

With autumn being one of my favorite seasons I had been out and about filming the sky, birds and the last leaves of summer. It was from these clips that I would build the video composition. We generally play a fairly minimal set at Kent St, but with a fair amount of experimentation and improvisation.

Usually we play at a bpm of between 90-130, at times we push 135. For the Yellow Performance Corey had been experimenting with higher bpm that could be halved if desired. The resulting tempo was set at 150, faster than we usually played. The result of this higher bpm was greater space to play in. That even though the measures cycled faster, there was a greater number of access points for the same amount of time.
